Properties: pure white crystals.
Solution: do not dissolve in water (20 ℃ , the 100 ml water, dissolve only 0.00029g). Slightly soluble in cold ethanol. Soluble in acetone, benzene , ether , chloroform , carbon tetrachloride , sulfur dioxide, chloroform , hot ethanol , toluene , amyl acetate and so on .
Preparation or sources : mainly by the hydrolysis of fats for industrial production . Plastics Industry
